Unfortunately, the cover didnt fit the Sony reader….Since I mailed to my family in Germany, I am not going to be able to return.

First, let’s start with a disclaimer: Every time I get a new contrivance, I wind up buying and discarding multiple cases. I’m seldom satisfied with the first choice (or the second or third). So, I’ll admit that I’m nitpicky about small details that might not matter to others.

Three things I like about this case:

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It’s sleek – quite slim and light weight.

It’s nicely made, The embossing and stitched edges, give it a designer look.

It doesn’t use hideous corner straps. Pins snap into slots at the top and bottom of the contrivance, attaching it at the spine.

What I dislike about this case:

The cover’s embedded magnets aren’t strong enough to keep the cover closed inside my purse. Things invariably work their way between the cover and the screen, so extra care is needed. I slid a large pony tail holder around the case to keep it closed.

Although it’s shown with the pink reader, the colors don’t quite go together. The cover is red, the reader is fuschia. Oddly, the plastic end caps on the reader are a paler pink and when the cover is closed, that pink and the cover’s red look nice together.

When the cover is folded back (to read one-handed), the reader swings left on the hinge leaving about 2″ gap between the right edge of the contrivance and the edge of the case, building it hard to reach the page turn button, and prompting me to take out the case in order to comfortably read.

I’m not convinced that the plastic pins will hold up to heavy use. They might be more durable than I give them credit for, but it’s subdue a concern.

    Conclusions

The Sony Pocket Edition is a basic reader, and if you’re looking for a basic case, this one is a nice choice. If, but you want something that will stay closed in a purse, or something more ergonomic for one-handed reading, then you’ll need to look elsewhere.

This cover is very essential to safeguard and maintain your Sony Reader. It attaches in a snap, and is very well made, but is really overpriced. Sony should just add a few dollars and include this and the A/C charger with the initial buy.
